I converted 4 of my sites to ID. My tech site http://raywaldo.com is open for comments to other ID users. I like the new improvements - including the FB, Twitter, OpenID & FriendFeed connections. You can opt to send posts to twitter or FB & the setup is easy too.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts about Disqus vs. IntenseDebate over the months since your wrote this post. I've been going back and forth, back and forth, agonizing over whether to switch to Disqus (which seems to have a larger following) or stick with ID (which is owned by Wordpress's parent company). Right now, I'm trying out Disqus 3.0.

Thanks for sharing the views on ID commenting system.
As per my opinion they're both good systems. ID's integration is tighter, and DISQUS is prettier ……………………… : )

when i transferred to ID i had about 600-700 comments to import, the whole thing run just as smoothly as it did when i setup ID on a new blog recently. No need to move away from ID for me

I like ID too. I tried to use it for an existing blog but it couldn't import all the comments so I had to go with Disqus. But if I were to start another blog from scratch, I'd give ID another try.

WoH, I believe Intense Debate offers built in capability to bring FriendFeed comments into the blog comments (though Bwana or another long time ID user might be better able to clarify). Either way, I know that Disqus currently does not offer that type of feature which could easily be a deciding factor for some users.

I'm registered with both and I've been wondering which one to use. Is there a way to knit together the FF comments and the ID or Disqus comments? Or to show both in both places? That would be great if you could.

Ive been wondering the same thing. The only thing I notice is that Disqus allows Seesmic videos and FacebookConnect, while Intense gives you the ability to tweet your comment. I'll definitely be looking further to your comments.
